You Matter.

You matter. Your impact, no matter how large or small is not insignificant. You are a living, breathing, whole, part of this eco system, and doing all that you can to be a force of good in the world, perhaps even a force to be reckoned with - is not for no good reason.

We are all guilty of self neglect, but you are not insignificant. Your energy, your ripple, your teeny tiny momentous reality matters greatly to the larger environment. One small rusty cog can impact a whole system. The greatest illusion of human existence is that we are separate from one another. We are in fact all interconnected. Where does your breath and my breath end and begin?

We are all living and breathing expressions of the same thing, and how we navigate that - though our own well-being, through interacting with others and how we together interact with the earth, with nature, with the ether we all exist within, it all matters, you matter, you are the medicine.

Below are 6 Medicines for Self Nourishment;

Movement - get to the gym, go for a run, have a long, slow walk, go to a class, get your heart racing, your body sweating and your breath to deepen.

Stillness - when the world is moving at 100mph and your thoughts are running rampant in your mind, coming to a complete halt, and finding your centre in amongst the energy is the most grounding and nourishing thing you can offer yourself.

Silence - where watching tv, listening to music or consuming words and sounds can act as a distraction, giving yourself the space and time to be silent allows for valuable processing time, contemplation and emotional regulation, bringing peace and clarity.

Expression - we’ve lived in a world that has conditioned our expression and taught us to suppress our liberating instincts, meeting that edge with compassion and blasting through it, through using your body as an instrument; voice, dance, movement, singing, shouting, screaming, wailing, laughing, cackling... whatever feels good, organic and authentic in the moment. It may not feel comfortable at first, but it will be cathartic.

Nature - surround yourself in nature. Get out into the park, submerge yourself in water, lay on the ground, take your shoes off, hug a tree, visit the ocean, create a fire, stand in the rain, go for a swim. Remember your inner nature by surrounding yourself with it.

Consumption - practice mindful consumption. This incudes the foods and liquids you nourish yourself with, the music you listen to, the programs you watch, the information you read. Inside of you somewhere is a sensitive little soul who is craving to be acknowledged and our modern world seldom allow for us to soften enough to connect with them - unless we make the choice.
