The 6-Week Journey

A 6 week Meditation Journey with Weekly Self Reflective Journal Prompts

Week 1 - The Body

Come home to yourself. We begin approaching meditation through the body. Learn to ground yourself, connect with your senses and build trust in your own experience. We’ll also explore some of the common myths and expectations around meditation and begin letting go of the idea that there is a “right” way to experience it.

Week 2 - The Breath

Using the breath as an anchor for meditation. Explore your breath as a way of bringing awareness into the present moment, noticing tension within the body and experimenting with breath, movement and sound to support relaxation.

Week 3 - The Mind

Becoming the observer. Learn to take the observer seat, becoming more aware of your thoughts without automatically following, believing or getting caught up in them. We’ll explore the nature of the busy mind and begin recognising thoughts as information we can notice rather than commands we have to follow.

Week 4 - Sensations

Meeting your inner world. Deepen your awareness by learning to notice and be with feelings, emotions and physical sensations without immediately needing to change them. This week is about developing our capacity to stay curious about what we experience within.

Week 5 - State of Being

Taking meditation into the world. Meditation doesn't have to end when we open our eyes. We’ll explore meditation as a state of being. Cultivating stillness, presence and mindful awareness within the ordinary moments of everyday life.

Week 6 - Integration & Self-Practice

Bring everything together to create a sustainable personal practice, remaining rooted in curiosity, self-trust and openness rather than expectations. Life isn't linear, and neither is meditation. The practice is learning how to recognise when life is inviting you to return.

By the end of our six weeks together, my hope isn't that you'll have become “good at meditation.”

It's that you'll have developed a deeper awareness of yourself.

You’ll leave with practical ways to ground yourself and support relaxation, a greater awareness of your body and its cues, an understanding of how to work with the breath, tools for observing thoughts and feelings without immediately getting caught up in them, and the foundations of a meditation practice you can continue making your own.

Most importantly, I hope you'll leave knowing that stillness is somewhere that never leaves you, and you can return to within.

I’m Hannah Apperley - a Hypnotherapist, Coach, Poet, Healer, Founder & Host of Fleet Meditation Community.

My work is centred around creating spaces where people can slow down, listen within and reconnect with themselves.

My approach to meditation is gentle, grounded and curious. I don't believe meditation is about forcing yourself to feel calm, getting rid of your thoughts or having a particular experience. Instead, I invite you to become curious about what is already here - your body, your breath, your thoughts, your feelings and the quieter awareness underneath them.

Over these six weeks, I'll guide you through the practices while encouraging you to develop something equally important: trust in your own experience.

FAQs

Do I need any Meditation Experience? Not at all. This course is beginner-friendly and will guide you through meditation, while also giving those with some experience an opportunity to deepen their practice.

What if I find it difficult to quiet my mind? Meditation isn’t about having an empty mind; throughout the course, you’ll learn how to notice your thoughts without needing to get caught up in them.

What should I bring? Wear comfortable clothing and bring anything you need to feel comfortable. There is a weekly journal practice and you may want to bring water.

Do I need to sit on the floor or cross-legged? No. You can meditate in whatever position feels comfortable and supportive for your body, including sitting on a chair.

Will I need to meditate between sessions? You’ll be encouraged to explore meditation and mindful moments between sessions so you can experience how the practice fits into your everyday life, but there’s no expectation to do it perfectly.

Who is this course for? Anyone who wants to slow down, understand their inner world more deeply and develop a meditation practice they can continue beyond the six weeks.
